Phewa Lake Pumdikot Day Hike is one of the most popular activity in Pokhara, which is situated. Pumdikot is situated 1600 meters above sea level. From the center of Pokhara, this well-known site is approximately 8 kilometers away. The duration of the hike can vary depending on your fitness level and pace, but it generally takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete. 

Phewa Lake to Pumdikot hike takes you to a gigantic statue of Lord Shiva which is 51-foot-tall. In the theme park, the statue is on top of a huge dome. Similarly, the temple is 108 feet tall overall. The same goes for the neighboring theme park, which offers a lovely garden and a 108-step staircase ascending to the Shiva Statue.

The view from the theme park is quite magnificent. You can also travel here if you want to escape the bustle of the city. The Shiva Damaru is another important landmark of the location, much like the Shiva statue. The Shiva Damaru at Pumdikot is regarded as the largest in Asia, which is the most essential fact. 

Pumdikot Village is a typical Nepalese village where tourists can enjoy and explore the depth of nature and natural beauty. Mountains, lakes, and other scenic features are all around it. Similarly, to this, after spending around 6 hours hiking to arrive at Pumdikot, you get to enjoy the beautiful vista of Pokhara and the snow-capped mountains.

The hike from Pokhara to Pumdikot is considered moderately challenging. There are some steep sections along the trail, so it’s advisable to have a moderate level of fitness and be prepared for an uphill climb. One of the highlights of this hike is the panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountain range. On a clear day, you can see peaks including Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri. Pumdikot also offers a breathtaking view of Pokhara City and Phewa Lake. 

One-day hike Phewa lake to Pumdikot starts with exploring Phewa Lake. From there you’ll need to head west towards Shanti Stupa by private vehicle. Once you reach Shanti Stupa, you’ll start ascending towards Pumdikot. The trail offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, as well as the view of the Pokhara Valley. The path is well-marked, and you’ll pass through forests and open fields along the way. 

After several hours of hiking, you’ll eventually arrive at Pumdikot, a viewpoint located at an elevation of 1450 meters. Pumdikot offers breathtaking vistas of Pokhara Valley Phewa Lake, and the Annapurna range. Once you have enjoyed the view from Pumdikot, you can retrace your step back to the trailhead near the Peace Temple. Then you’ll drive back to Pokhara.

Itinerary:

Boat ride at Phewa Lake. Then visit the Talbarahi temple which is situated in the middle of Phewa Lake. After visiting Talbarahi temple, continue the boat ride to the starting point of the hike.

It takes about 15 minutes of boat ride at Phewa Lake to reach the hike starting point.

You’ll start the hike by heading uphill toward the World Peace Stupa Pagoda. The trail will take you through a peaceful forested area and offer beautiful views of Pokhara and Phewa Lake.

Around One hour’s walk from Phewa Lake, you’ll reach Peace Stupa and explore the area. The pagoda itself is a stunning structure with a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Pokhara City, and the lake.

Head towards the Pumdikot. The trail will lead you through terraced fields, small villages, and lush green forests.  After approximately 45 min walk from the Peace Stupa, you’ll reach Pumdikot.

Then you’ll have lunch over here. You’ll stroll over the Pumdikot. It’s a viewpoint that offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges, as well as the Pokhara Valley.

Then you’ll head back to Shanti Stupa following the same route. From Shanti Stupa, you’ll drive back to Lakeside.
