The 5 day Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes place through some of Nepal’s most breathtaking landscapes. You pass waterfalls, glaciers, and oak and rhododendron forests on the trail. Additionally, you’ll get to view some of the most endangered animals in the world, such as the snow leopard. You’ll have lots of chances to take pictures and take in the scenery along the way. The walk is difficult but worthwhile, and it’s an experience you won’t soon forget.

This short ABC trek is packed with adventures, picturesque villages, and fascinating cultures. The stunning view of the Annapurna South (7,219m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (fishtail) (6,997m), Gangapurna (7,455m), Mardi Himal (5553m), Bharha Chuli (7646m), and a few more peaks. The majority of the five-day ABC Trekking Trail is covered in lush woodland. We follow the Himalayan River Modi, which originates from the Annapurna Glaciers and Annapurna I, 8091m, from Deaurali to ABC through MBC.

After passing through the lovely villages of Jhinu Dada (hot Spring), Chhomrong, and the final settlement of Sinuwa village (where we can observe the culture and traditional way of life of the Gurung and Magar people), trekkers rich in the area known as Bamboo, Dovan Himalaya, Deurali, MBC, and ABC, which are all within the special management zone of Annapurna, continue their 5-day journey to the Annapurna Base Camp. These give us the ability to house and feed ABC Trek travelers.

5-days Annapurna Base Camp trek starts scenic drive from Pokhara to Sewai, where you may take in the area’s lush rolling hills and sparkling silver mountain range. The journey continues via a suspension bridge that spans a branch of the Modi Khola on the route to Jhinu Dada. Then from Jhinu Danda ascending the arduous staircase to Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a popular overnight stay for ABC trekker. You can experience both the Gurung and Magar traditional cultures in this village. From Chhomrong continue the journey to the Himalaya following the path of Chhomrong village through a picturesque village and ascending to Modi River valley.  From Himalaya, hike to ABC through MBC which provides a mind-blowing view of glaciers, and mountain ranges from Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchre.  Then back to Sinuwa and back to Pokhara.

Food & Accomodation:

Food and Accommodation at 5 day Annapurna Base Camp Trek

On the ABC trip, everyone’s top priorities are food and lodging. Since ABC is located in a rural section of the nation, there are no five-star hotels there, yet we can nevertheless offer first-rate hotels and lodges. The majority of the teahouses have twin-sharing arrangements, while single bedrooms can be arranged upon request.

Food is necessary during the hike. The primary source of energy for this expedition is food burning. In Nepalese, the phrase “Dal Bhat power, 24 hours” refers to the ability to endure for practically a day after consuming dal bhat. The national dish is dal bhat, however other dishes can be made, including vegetable and noodle soups.

We advise you to stay away from dairy items, hard drinks, and beverages with a lot of caffeine since they could be harmful to your physiology and health at higher altitudes.

5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek Difficulty

5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek difficulty is the world’s moderate trek. Despite not being very difficult, this journey requires the trekker to be in good physical and mental health. One shouldn’t have heart and lung conditions as well as knee or ankle issues.

This hike can be done in 7 to 8 hours of walking per day with adequate rest. A month or two before the journey date, you should start exercising and getting ready for this trip. These could include daily walking, going on hikes, taking a big walk once a week, practicing breathing techniques connected to yoga, etc.

Best Time 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek

5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek is thought to be most enjoyable in the spring and fall. The best climate is reached during the spring season, which runs from February to April. You are welcomed by the sight of springtime’s flowering rhododendron and lush, green woodlands. The blossoming plants and stunning mountain views are at their peak during this time of year. At lower elevations, it is warm and moderate; as you ascend higher, it becomes colder.

Similarly, the ideal period for the 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek is during the autumn, which lasts from September to November. The enormous snow-covered mountains are stunning throughout the autumn when the skies are typically clear. Daytime temperatures are quite consistent. It can get a little chilly at night and in the early morning. But the trek is pleasant on bright, sunny days.

The rainy season, which lasts from early June to late August, can be used to complete the 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek, though it is not generally recommended. The weather during this season can shift rapidly from clear to wet. Since there is no snow during this season and one can enjoy the monsoon together with the rough mountain environment, the period is not the toughest.

The time from late November to early February is not recommended because it is winter and has the coldest weather. This season of the year brings the greatest number of casualties. This walk is nearly hard because of the constant icefall and temperatures that drop to zero degrees Celsius in a matter of minutes.

Tipping During the 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek

Tipping is a personal way for you to express appreciation for your services. You may want to leave a tip for the services you appreciate, or you may just want to express your gratitude in Nepali by saying “DHANYABAD.”

The final day of the vacation is typically when tips are given. Similar to this, trekkers are free to tip a hotel, lodge, or individual on whatever day they choose. Tipping is purely a matter of personal preference and perspective.

Altitude Sickness and Acclimatization

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) symptoms can appear at elevations above 2000 meters above sea level because there is less oxygen in the air, which makes breathing difficult. The signs and symptoms of AMS include nausea, fatigue, headache, and dizziness.

Keep in mind that the 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek will take you above 4100 meters, which reduces your risk of developing AMS. To help your body adjust to the thin air, walk gradually and gently. There is a danger that you could develop AMS if you try to move quickly and cover a large area at a high altitude. To prevent the situation from getting worse, vigilance should be exercised. Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated, and eat a balanced diet of foods to help your body feel more energized.

Travel Insurance 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek

A quality travel insurance policy that provides adequate coverage for all of your activities is crucial for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. During the journey, anything may happen. Even though we are more concerned with safety, accidents and emergencies can sometimes happen where we are going.

Physical injuries, helicopter evacuation, medical costs, and any other situations you can face while trekking should all be covered by your travel insurance policy.

Drinking Water on 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek

Trekkers must drink plenty of water to keep their bodies hydrated and avoid altitude sickness (AMS) (Acute Mountain Sickness). Three to four liters of water per day should be consumed while climbing up ABC.

Instead of purchasing bottled water, we strongly advise you to carry one reusable water container that can hold hot water. In addition to being pricey, bottled water might cause severe issues in the Annapurna region. Water purification tablets can be used to clean water. But after taking tablets, the flavor will change. Water should always be consumed after sufficient cleansing. Both the teahouse and the tent have access to boiled water.
