The 7-night 8-day Kathmandu Pokhara Chitwan tour begins from exploring Kathmandu city. You’ll visit some places including Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Then after you’ll drive to Pokhara, a lake city in Nepal. You’ll explore the main hotspots in Pokhara Valley which include Sarangkot, Phewa Lake, International Mountain Museum, Davis Falls, and Gupteshwor Cave. Then, you’ll head toward the Chitwan National Park. In Chitwan, you’ll perform wild safaris inside the national park. You’ll explore the wild animals and plants of the national park through a jeep safari or elephant safari. You’ll also observe the Tharu dance performed by typical Tharu people of that area. After canoeing at the Rapti River, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu and your tour comes to an end here. 

Itinerary:

Welcome to Nepal. You will arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. 

Overnight at the hotel

On this day, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath. You’ll experience the rich culture and religious heritage of Nepal as you explore these historic landmarks. 

After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel, first, you’ll Swayambhunath Stupa located at the hilltop which offers stunning panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. The stupa is adorned with colorful prayer flags and intricate carvings of Buddhist deities. 

Then explore Kathmandu Durbar Square which is a historical and cultural gem, featuring several palaces, temples, and courtyards from the ancient Malla and Shah dynasties. You’ll explore the intricately carved wooden structures, pagodas, and statues, each representing Nepalese art and architecture from different periods.  

Later, head to Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in Nepal and an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Its massive mandala structure and the all-seeing eyes painted on the stupa symbolize enlightenment and wisdom.

In the evening time visit Pashupatinath temple, a sacred Hindu temple complex situated on the banks of the Bagmati river. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites globally. You can watch Sandhya aarti which is performed at the Bank of the Bagmati River. Then, return back at the Hotel.

Following breakfast at the hotel, you’ll pack your luggage and put it in the private jeep properly. Then your start towards Pokhara by road. Driving from Kathmandu to Pokhara is a popular and scenic journey that offers stunning views of the Himalayas and the picturesque landscapes of Nepal.

It takes approximately 6-7 hours, covering a distance of around 200 km via the Prithivi Highway. Along the way, you’ll pass through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and lush green hills. Once you reach Pokhara, you’ll transfer to your respective hotel.

Get up early and travel to Sarangkot Hill to see the amazing sunrise above the Himalayan ranges. When you reach the summit, you will have a 360-degree panorama of the Pokhara Valley and the Himalayan ranges.

Witness a stunning sunrise as morning comes over the mountains, bathing them in vibrant hues of red, orange, and golden yellow. This is a magnificent moment that you will remember for the rest of your life. Then, you’ll back to the Lakeside. 

After having breakfast, you’ll explore the main spots of the Pokhara Valley. You’ll head toward Davis Falls, a cascade that runs into an underground tunnel, which is a must-see. Then go to the Gupteshwar Gupha (cave), an underground cave that holds Lord Shiva’s shrine.

The waters from the Davis Fall are cascading down a crack near the bottom of the cave’s wall. Visit the International Mountain Museum, which displays equipment and gear from most of the original Himalayan expeditions. You can also learn a lot about the Himalayan range and the culture and lifestyle of the people who live there. After exploring Pokhara Valley, back to the hotel.

Before heading towards the Chitwan, have a proper breakfast and explore the Taal Barahi temple. To access the temple, take a boat ride across Phewa Lake. The temple is devoted to Durga, the ‘protector of the gods’, the mother goddess. Phewa Lake encircles the temple on all sides. You can witness the amazing views of Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna Mountain ranges while boating 

After spending quality time head towards the Chitwan. The journey to Chitwan is beautiful, with gurgling brooks, green meadows, and breathtaking mountain views. When you arrive in Chitwan, check into your accommodation and rest.  Take a stroll in the late afternoon and explore Tharu village. Tharus are an ethnic group that has lived in the Chitwan jungles for centuries.

On the 6th day of your tour, you will explore the Chitwan National Park. The Chitwan National Park was Nepal’s first. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its natural state. The park is home to the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, the Royal Bengal Tiger, and an abundance of other endangered flora and fauna.

Embark on a thrilling jungle safari in an open-top jeep or on the back of an elephant. The safari will take you deep into the heart of the park, where you can spot various wildlife. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Elephant Breeding Centre, where you will meet mother elephants and their calves. In the evening, there is a Tharu cultural program. A cultural group will perform Tharu songs and dances for you and those who attend

Early in the morning, you’ll experience sunrise from Rapti River and enjoy a peaceful canoe ride which offers an opportunity to observe diverse bird species and aquatic life.  Then you’ll back to the hotel and have breakfast. After that check out from the hotel and bid farewell to Chitwan National Park.  With scenic views of the nation, you’ll be back to Kathmandu. It takes approximately 5-6 hours depending on the road conditions and traffic jams. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you’ll transfer to your respective hotel.

Today is your last day in Nepal. Your 7-night 8-day tour ends here. According to your flight schedule, our representative will drop you at the departure terminal of the TIA.
