Overview:

The Astam Village day Hike is a popular trekking route in Nepal that offers a wonderful blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and panoramic mountain views. Astam village is situated in the Kaski district of Nepal, approximately 20 km northwest of Pokhara, one of Nepal’s major tourist destinations. Astam village is famous for its sunset and sunrise view over the Himalayan. This village offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Annapurna range including Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, and Annapurna IV. 

A-day hike to Astam village is an ideal option for hikers. Astam village is known for its tea gardens where hikers can take a stroll amidst the neatly manicured tea bushes. The tea plantations not only provide a scenic ambiance but also offer an opportunity to learn about tea cultivation and processing techniques. The surrounding area of Astam village is a paradise for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. Hikers can embark on nature walks through verdant forests, and enjoy the soothing sound of gurgling streams. 

Hiking to Astam Village takes hikers to a wonderful place. Astam Village is a beautiful destination where travelers can witness traditional village life in Nepal. This village offers the opportunity to stay in traditional homestays, where you can experience the warm hospitality of the local people and savor authentic Nepali cuisine. The Astam Village trip is a wonderful way to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. This hike also takes you to a beautiful village; Dhampus. One of the famous mountain villages you visit on this journey is Dhampus. A beautiful perspective of the typical village layout is provided by the stone-paved pathways and thatched-roofed stone houses on both sides. The Gurung community of ethnicity resides in this village.

Itinerary:

Around after 30 mins drive from Phewa Lake, you’ll reach Hemja from where your hike starts. Then you’ll make a gradual ascent through a forest of chestnuts as you move toward Astam Village.

After walking for one and a half hours from Hemja, you’ll reach Astam village. You can have a short tea break over here. And then move forward towards the Dhampus.

Around a two-hour walk from Astam village, you’ll reach Dhampus. You’ll have delicious lunch at Dhampus prepared by the local people. Then after having amazing lunch, you’ll stroll around the Australian Camp.

Then you process the hike to Phedi where the hike is over. From Phedi, you’ll drive back to Phedi.

Our guides are familiar with the entire trip and have years of experience. A guide will provide you with all the details about that region. We offer guides who speak English. We may, however, grant your request for a tour guide who speaks a different language if it is possible. Throughout the hike, customer safety is always given top priority. Every one of our guides is given first aid and emergency response training, as well as the tools they need to handle any unanticipated circumstances.

Transportation 

For a day hike to Astam Village, we offer private transportation for transfers from Lakseside to Hemja and Phedi to Lakeside. A typical day

A typical day in the Asstam village hike from Pokhara offers a beautiful blend of nature, culture, and a glimpse into the traditional way of life in rural Nepal. You begin your day in Pokhara, a vibrant city nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. After a hearty breakfast, you make your way to the starting point of the hike. You’ll drive up to Hemja, a small town near Pokhara from the hike starts. Begin your hike toward Astam village, which is approximately 12 kilometers away from Hemja. The trail meanders through lush green hills, terraced fields, and small villages, providing stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Along the way, take breaks to rest, hydrate, and soak in the scenic beauty of the countryside. 

After a few hours of hiking, reach Astam village, situated at an elevation of around 1600 meters. The village is known for its serene atmosphere, panoramic views of the Annapurna Mountain range, and traditional Nepalese architecture. Here you can have short tea breaks and explore the village. Then continue your hike from Astam to Dhampus, a charming village located at an altitude of approximately 1700 meters. Along the way, find a scenic spot to take a break and rest. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. At the Dhapmus, you’ll have authentic Nepalese cuisine prepared by the local people. 

Then continue your trek from Dhampus towards Phedi. The trail descends through lush forests, offering a glimpse of the beautiful landscapes.  Once you arrive at Phedi, you’ll drive back to Pokhara and be escorted to your respective hotel.
